Homework
Homework will be assigned every Wednesday and it will be due on Friday of the following week. These will account for 100% of your grade.
On grading of the homework:
When you are writing up your solutions, you should pay attention to the following:
- Your solution must be rigorous. In the beginning of a study of algebraic topology, there is a tendency to give "proofs by pictures". This is encouraged and helpful during informal discussions but when you are writing down your solution, you must prove or cite every statement that you are making. Please do not write statements that you do not know how to prove.
- You should read the relevant parts of your favorite algebraic topology textbook(s).
- You are encouraged to work on the problem sets in groups but the final write-up should be yours.
- Please note that the purpose of the homework is for you to learn the material and the purpose of the grading is for me to give you feedback. You will receive a qualitative grade such as OK, (Very) Good or Excellent. In letter grades, these roughly correspond to B, A or 2A-B respectively.

Here are the lecture notes. They are mostly taken from the above references.
